The cuisine style is 'modern British & European' using seasonal and local produce that is sourced from local suppliers from within The Weald of Kent, in what really is The Garden of England. We are proud to be a member of Produced in Kent that champions and develops the Kent identity of local products. Through our association with them we have been able to source small producers, ensuring we use only the best local produce available. The philosophy at The Mulberry Tree is to offer a value for money dining experience, using only the best ingredients.
Utilising the land that surrounds the restaurant, a kitchen garden has been developed to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs, together with a small herd of Kentish Middle White pigs - taking local produce to the extreme! There are future plans to develop an orchard and utilise a natural pond to rear ducks.
There is an extensive wine list that includes many New World wines from smaller vineyards, together with the more well-known names, including English wines from Biddenden Vineyard. The majority of the wine list is served by the glass and there is a full selection of beers, both draught and bottled available, together with locally sourced, organic soft drinks.
Head chef Alan Irwin, is formerly from the four rosette, one Michelin starred and 'AA Restaurant of the Year', Chapter One in Bromley. He has also worked for two Michelin starred John Burton Race and has twice been in the finals of the Roux Scholarship
